I really enjoyed learning about Host Leadership and it really changed my perspective about conventional leadership. I used to not see myself in positions of leadership but now I see myself as a host leader in many areas and have gained confidence in how I can be effective in my coaching and training.
Yes! This resonates with me as well. I never thought I could be a leader, much less a 'good leader." In fact, I didn't want to be a leader, because I was uncomfortable with the idea of being in front of people. Until I learned about Host Leadership. I felt comfortable fitting into a role I felt I could do and enjoy. The beautiful metaphor had so many dimensions and I realized the importance of understanding all the elements and roles of "Host as Leader."
In the Host Leadership training, we explored the different roles and different positions. This expanded my thinking around "hosting" as it connected to 'leadership' and I began to realize, "Hey! I know how to do that!" I started recalibrating my view of 'leadership' . One thing I really enjoyed exploring was the idea of when to step forward and when to step backward. Also, about how a 'host' prepares before an event; how they are 'present' during and what they do after an event. It was a revelation!
